Q. Where is Star Ridge Stables located?
A. We are conveniently located off of Hwy 170 between Bluffton, SC and Savannah, GA  Seven miles from I-95 and just a short drive from Beaufort, S.C.
 
Q. What is the student to instructor ratio?
A. Classes range from 1:1 to 5:1.  Small classes allow for the individual attention you need to develop skills and ability.
 
Q. When are lessons available? What will they cost?
A.  Lessons are taught year round Monday through Saturday.  Group lessons average $40 per lesson.
 
Q.  What if it rains on my lesson day?
A.  Lessons are rain or shine.  We offer a full horse management program, so rain days are used to teach important "classroom" information such as, bridling, saddling, bathing, basic first aid and how to wrap legs.
 
Q. Do I have to own my own horse?
A.  No, you do not have to own a horse to take lessons or show.  We offer a very special string of school horses and ponies.  Our equines can be used for your very first lesson or they can carry you into the show ring.
 
Q.  Do I need my own equipment?
A.  All students need their own approved ASTMF riding helmet. Also, students must wear boots and breeches.  Beginner students can wear jeans during their first session.
 
Q.  Do I have to compete at shows if I take lessons?
A.  No, you do not have to compete at shows.  We offer many activities other then showing.  Additional leasing is available year round.  We also host several "Fun Days" and in-house clinics each year.
 
Q.  What if I do want to compete at a show and I do not own a horse?
A.  All of our lesson  horses and ponies are available for any of our students to take to the shows.
 
Q. What do you offer for the more experienced rider who wants to horse show?
A.  The more advance rider can attend "A" and PSJ shows throughout the Southeast.  These upper level competitions are a wonderful way for the more competitive students to challenge themselves.
